chief complaint: joint pain

A 50 year old man complained of joint pain of 10-15 years duration. He worked outside in every kind of weather and was very troubled by the worsening pain, that moved around through all his joints, especially his elbows, shoulders, and knees. He used anti-inflammatory medication daily.

Within 4-5 sessions, he began to feel better and started reducing his medication.

He decided to use acupuncture on a weekly basis as well as regular chiropractic care. Periodically he stopped coming for a while and then returned when he felt sore and achey again. He maintained his medication also, but was able to reduce the dose. For this man, weekly acupuncture helped him continue to work really hard and still feel great.
