chief complaint: heavy periods

A 41 year old massage therapist came to acupuncture for treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding of 5 years duration with severe PMS, fatigue, and almost daily nausea. She also had migraines nearly every week and was depressed and anxious.

Acupuncture and herbs controlled her heavy bleeding and PMS quite well over a course of treatment lasting several months. She was treated weekly for a few months and then twice a month for a few months, and then occasionally. The fatigue and nausea began to improve right away. She had no more migraines after starting acupuncture. Gradually her spirits lifted, and she began to feel calmer and more centered.
